50TH ANNIVERSARY 5KM TIME TRIAL CHALLENGE
Following the April Time Trial, the leaderboard has expanded to 34 members, with several strong new performances.
A special welcome to our new participants — Seah Chuan Heng, Tharun Ranjan, Seah Li Xiang, Joyceleen Yap, Toh Ming Hong, Chauncey Chee, and Egor Saltykov. Notably, Seah Chuan Heng made an immediate impact by entering the Top 10 with an impressive 67.20% API.
As a reminder, the challenge has 2 components:
- Finisher Award: Complete all six Time Trials.
- Winners’ Leaderboard: Rank in the Top 10 based on your single best Age Performance Index (API) score from any of the six trials
Latest Leaderboard & Finisher Status
The table below shows your best API and individual trial scores. We’ve also added a checkmark (√) for members who are currently on track for the Finisher Award.
At the top of the leaderboard, Tony Seakins continues to lead with an outstanding 76.72% API, while Jeremie Houssineau and John Yates remain in second and third place respectively.
At this stage, only Wong Kin Leong and Wang Li remain on course for the Finisher Award, having completed all five Time Trials conducted so far.
With one Time Trial remaining (June), all participants still have the opportunity to improve their scores and challenge for a place in the Top 10 Winners’ Leaderboard.
50th Anniversary 5km Time Trial Challenge Leaderboard (as of April 2026 Time Trial)
Every MR25 member earns their place in the club by meeting the legendary 5KM Time Trial 25-minute standard. To honour this tradition, we invite all members to take on the MR25 5KM Time Trial Challenge again —a true test of speed, resilience, and competitive spirit!
Those who complete all six trials within the minimum standard will receive the prestigious 🏃♂️ Special MR25 50th Anniversary 5KM Time Trial Finisher Award 🏃♀️
To promote equity across all age groups, the minimum standard will be based on 50% of the Age-Graded Performance Index, acknowledging the natural effects of aging—because this club celebrates runners from every generation!

🏆 THE WINNERS’ LEADERBOARD 🏆
To raise the stakes, a Leaderboard will track the best index scores from any of the six Time Trials. The top 10 performers will receive the Special MR25 50th Anniversary 5KM Time Trial Challenge Winners Award.
This format accommodates members who miss one or more trials by allowing them to remain in the time trial competition. In the event of a tie, the participants’ second-best API scores will be used as the tiebreaker.

🏆 THE WINNERS’ LEADERBOARD 🏆
For those eyeing the podium, finishing positions in any four of the six Progressive Runs will be scored as follows: 1st place = 1 point, 2nd place = 2 points, and so on, up to 30 points for 30th place. The top 10 participants with the lowest cumulative points from the best four races will receive the Special MR25 50th Anniversary Progressive Run Challenge Winners Award.
Two races remain: May (20 km) and July (25 km). Join in any time — it’s never too late to test yourself and be part of the challenge.
This challenge also offers members who miss one or more runs the chance to remain competitive. In the event of a tie, head-to-head finish times among tied participants will be used to determine the final rankings.
Participation Procedure:
All MR25 members are automatically eligible for the competition—no separate registration is required. Simply sign up for the Time Trials (TT) and Progressive Runs (PR) to be included in the challenge.
In line with NParks regulations, if more than 30 participants register for any TT or PR session, the organizers will contact selected individuals to arrange an additional session outside the usual Sunday slot. We kindly ask all who register to make every effort to attend, to minimize inconvenience and ensure others are not denied opportunities.
Eligibility is limited to MR25 members with active membership status – valid and current paid subscription – at the time of the event. Ordinary members are encouraged to renew their subscriptions ahead of time to maintain eligibility and support effective planning by the organizers.
While prizes will be awarded, this initiative is primarily a fun and inclusive effort by the Management Committee to encourage member participation, foster friendships, and celebrate our 50th anniversary. We warmly invite all members to join in the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
The organizing committee reserves the right to interpret the rules and make final decisions on any matters not explicitly covered in the competition guidelines.
